Choose by the job, not by the word free

For solo country practice, prioritize fast restart, useful post-round feedback and a map pool that matches what you want to learn. For friends, prioritize private-room setup, joining friction and whether every player can access the same mode. For serious improvement, prioritize repeatability and review over the number of available maps.

A free game that creates five unreviewed rounds teaches less than one reviewed round. Decide in advance which clue family you are training and stop after a small batch so you can inspect mistakes.

A no-cost 30-minute practice session

Spend five minutes choosing one clue family, such as road lines or scripts. Play five short rounds for fifteen minutes. Use the next eight minutes to review every miss and write one correction rule. Finish with two minutes of recall without looking at your notes.

  • 5 minutes: choose one clue family and define success.
  • 15 minutes: play five rounds with the same scan order.
  • 8 minutes: review misses and record one rule per miss.
  • 2 minutes: recall the new rules from memory.

Free game access and free helper access are different

A game provides the rounds; a helper changes how you inspect or place a supported round. GeoBoost provides five starter guesses and then one free guess per day so you can test its Chrome workflow before choosing a paid plan. That does not make paid game modes free and it does not replace the rules of the game you are playing.

Use third-party assistance only in private, practice or testing contexts where it is allowed. GeoGuessr's published community rules explicitly reserve competitive and leaderboard play for fair play without third-party advantages.
