Privacy Policy

GeoGuessr Boost is a Chrome extension for supported GeoGuessr, OpenGuessr, WorldGuessr, FreeGuessr, and Geotastic rounds that can identify a game location and optionally place a pin on the map.

Data processed by the extension

The extension may read round coordinates and map state on supported game pages after you interact with it. It stores settings, selected language, hotkey, onboarding status, privacy consent, cached free-usage and Pro status, promo status, and the latest result in Chrome storage on your device.

Browser identity and free usage

To keep free limits and account state consistent after reinstalling the extension, GeoGuessr Boost creates a random first-party browser identifier in a secure HTTP-only cookie on geoboost.win and links it to extension installation identifiers. We store server-side starter and daily usage counters, successful-guess totals, and activity dates. The identifier is not your Google account identifier and does not give us access to your Chrome account.

Billing

If you start a Pro payment or restore Pro access, we collect your email address, extension installation identifier, payment session status, subscription status, restore-code status, and ordinary operational metadata needed to provide access and support. Payments are processed by Stripe. Restore emails are sent through Resend. We do not receive or store full card numbers, and restore codes are stored only as hashes.

If you request manual cryptocurrency payment, we store your email address, selected plan, country, request status, extension installation identifier, browser user agent, and a hashed IP address used for abuse prevention. Resend delivers the request notification to support. Wallet details and payment instructions are exchanged only through the subsequent support conversation and are not displayed by the extension.

Fraud prevention records

We retain legacy promotional-code and invite-code records, including confirmed email, linked browser and installation identifiers, application time, usage totals, active dates, automated risk tier, qualification status, and reward status. Email verification codes are stored as hashes. We also store a keyed hash of an approximate network prefix to detect duplicate use; we do not store that network prefix in readable form.

Affiliate program

If you join the affiliate program, we store your verified email address, permanent invite code, extension installation identifier, direct referral relationship, account status, commission rate, pending and available commission ledger, Stripe invoice, subscription and charge identifiers, refund or dispute adjustments, and payout history. Stripe identifiers are used server-side for attribution, accounting, idempotency, refunds, and dispute handling; they are not shown to other users.

If you request a cryptocurrency payout, we store the selected asset and network, wallet address, requested amount, request status, transaction reference where applicable, and processing timestamps. Wallet details are available only to authorized support or operations personnel for manual payout processing. Affiliate accounting records may be retained as needed for fraud prevention, financial reconciliation, legal obligations, and dispute resolution.

Product analytics

We use Amplitude to understand how the extension is used and where people drop off. Analytics events may include a random browser or installation identifier, extension version, selected language, subscription status, selected plan, free-guess usage, feature toggles, checkout/restore steps, invite-code and affiliate-flow steps, uninstall status, non-sensitive error categories, and the request IP address so Amplitude can derive an approximate country, region, and city. We do not send raw email addresses, invite codes, wallet addresses, payout networks, exact balances, Stripe or invoice identifiers, payment card details, screenshots, exact round coordinates, map URLs, game account credentials, or personal communications to Amplitude. Paid-user identifiers are hashed before analytics use.

Uninstall feedback

The extension may register a one-time random uninstall URL associated with its installation identifier. If Chrome opens that URL after removal, our server records the uninstall once, sends the extension version and non-sensitive account status to Amplitude, and redirects to the feedback page. The URL contains no email address, and only a keyed hash of its random token is stored. If you choose to submit feedback, we also collect the selected reason, optional message, optional email address, extension version when available, timestamp, browser user agent, and a hashed IP address for abuse prevention.

Reverse geocoding

When coordinates are found, the extension may send latitude, longitude, and language to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim reverse-geocoding service to show a readable place name. That request is made directly from the extension.

Website access

The extension may open geoboost.win for the welcome page, billing success page, uninstall feedback page, privacy policy, terms, refund policy, pricing, support information, Pro payment, restore access, and subscription management.

What we do not collect

The extension does not collect browsing history, personal communications, game authentication data, health data, or full payment card data. We do not sell personal data.

Website and support

If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send. Our website and hosting providers may process ordinary operational metadata such as IP address, browser user agent, timestamps, and error logs for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

Security

Website traffic uses HTTPS. Extension data is handled through Chrome extension APIs and the permissions shown during installation. Host access is limited to supported game pages and the OpenStreetMap Nominatim reverse-geocoding service.
