The 8-clue filter
Run the same filter every round. The order matters because some clues remove more possibilities than others.
- Driving side: left or right.
- Script: Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Thai, Japanese, Korean.
- Road lines: center color, shoulder color, road edge.
- Signs: shape, color, fonts, arrows, road shields.
- Poles: concrete, wood, metal, hole patterns, wire layout.
- Plates: color, size, blur pattern.
- Landscape: climate, soil, mountains, vegetation.
- Sun and shadows: hemisphere check when visible.
Country groups beat country guesses
If you cannot choose between neighboring countries, name the group first. Baltics, Balkans, Nordics, Andes, Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, and Iberia each have internal clues you can learn later.
Make a small miss
When the evidence is thin, pick a central point inside the likely cluster. Small misses keep you alive. Big confident misses lose games.
