Use the first-pass checklist

Start with high-value filters: driving side, script, road lines, signs, poles, plates, landscape, and sun direction. These clues cut the world faster than searching for a town name.

  • Left-side driving narrows the country list fast.
  • Scripts are often the quickest continent or region clue.
  • Road markings separate many similar-looking countries.
  • Poles and bollards are high-signal in Europe and parts of Asia.

Use a helper when you are stuck

A helper tool can keep a bad round from becoming a time sink. Use the answer to review the clue path: what should have made the country obvious earlier?

Make your practice smaller

Do not try to learn the whole world in one session. Practice one region or one clue type at a time. Country recognition improves when the comparison set is small enough to notice differences.
